Extended Diploma Business students challenged students and staff with a range of Christmas stalls in aid of the RSPCA – a charity chosen by the students themselves.
Business Tutor Deb Pearson explained: “The students are developing skills as part of their ‘Planning and Managing Business Events’ and ‘Developing Teamwork in Business’ modules and have done a brilliant job organising and advertising their individual stalls.”
The students worked together to produce fundraising stalls including Christmas biscuits, a keepy-uppy football challenge, festive tuck shop and the latest craze of the bottle-flip challenge. The students also approached local businesses to put together a tempting raffle with prizes including a two-night stay at the Vale of Pickering Camp site and gift vouchers from M&S, Tesco and the Sant’ Angelo Restaurant in Wetherby.
The students did an excellent job raising a grand total of £282.00 for the RSPCA.
