The York College Hair & Beauty Division welcomed hairdressers from around the region to an evening demonstration by world-renowned hairdresser Patrick Cameron.
Patrick Cameron’s demonstration in the College’s Alan Ayckbourn Theatre, in association with global hairdressing manufacturer Wella, inspired tutors and local hairdressers as they watched him create unique hairstyles with ease and precision.
Patrick Cameron is acknowledged by his peers to be the ‘long hair expert’ and hairdressing professionals throughout the world are enthused by his techniques. Running his own London training school Patrick is keen to give something back to the industry and enjoys visiting hairdressing colleges to pass on his expertise.
Said Patrick: “I want to inspire those working with the hairdressers of the future and pass on new skills and ideas. Education is paramount to any hairdresser’s growth and development and to increase awareness in long hair dressing particularly, dispelling the myth that long hair dressing is complicated, is important to me.”
Jayne Laverick, Head of Division for Hairdressing, Beauty and Holistic Therapies at York College said: “We were delighted to host this amazing demonstration by Patrick Cameron and Wella. Patrick’s work is quite remarkable and the College’s hairdressing tutors, and the many employers we work with, were completely motivated by his inspirational creativity.”
