First year students studying the Extended Diploma in Music are performing in 'DECADES' at the College's Alan Ayckbourn Theatre - recreating the pop and rock music popular in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
Students are working together to showcase their musical talents, performing in live bands and reuniting audiences with musical highlights from past decades, including songs by the Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, REM and Radiohead.
Says music tutor Ben Westwood: “'DECADES provides our students with an enjoyable challenge. They have worked hard in rehearsals to reproduce the songs just as they were played years ago. Their performance skills will come into play as they perform music from the different eras .”
Decades is performed in the College’s Alan Ayckbourn Theatre on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th March at 1.00pm and 7.00pm. Tickets are £5 and £4 (the 1.00pm performance is free for York College students with a ticket).
