The College held stonemasonry, art & design and IT workshop sessions at the Yorkshire Museum, as part of York Residents Festival.
Visitors to the museum had the chance to get hands-on, chipping away at numbers and letters in the stonemasonry workshop, based in the museum’s Medieval Gallery.
Families had great fun making clay fossils and dinosaur footprints in the art & design workshops and the College’s IT Division offered advice and guidance on all things IT related, such as iPhone and tablet use.
Charlotte Hawes, Events Officer at York College said: “The York Residents’ Festival weekend provides the perfect opportunity for York College to show local people the kind of skills that can be learned and enjoyed at College.
It was great to see people getting involved in making their own stonemasonry carvings and lots of children enjoyed the historical art & design activities. The College’s IT students helped residents understand their computer devices – fun was had by all.”
