There are a number of different ways to apply to your course at York College, depending on your chosen pathway.
To apply to one of our full-time Honours Degrees, a Foundation Degree, Extended Degree, HNC or HND course applicants should apply online through UCAS. If you do not have internet access, contact UCAS on 0371 468 0 468 for details of regional application centres.
Part Time Courses
If you wish to study a part-time course, you can apply directly through York College. You can apply online via the course pages on our website or complete a York College application form, these can also be collected from the College InfoZone.
To apply for one of our Access Courses complete an application online or collect a paper application and complete and return, this can be arranged through the InfoZone either in person or via email.
On receipt of your application, you may be invited to an interview. This is your opportunity to meet with a tutor and ask about costs, materials, discounts etc. before deciding whether this is the right course for you.
All of the Higher Education and Access Courses at York College have individual entry requirements, these can be found on the specific course pages or in the York College prospectus. If you can’t see your prior qualifications listed, please get in touch with us to discuss your options. We also readily accept applicants who have relevant skills and experience but do not hold the standard minimum entry requirement, Non-standard entry applicants will be required to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience to enter the course through their personal statement.
Applicants who have studied an Access to Higher Education Diploma should calculate tariff points using the UCAS tariff calculator.
English Requirements for International Students
IELTS score is required for international students whose first language is not English. 6.0 with no component less than 5.5. There is further information available for international students on our website if you’re applying with non-UK qualifications.
