There are a range of opportunities to study English, maths and ESOL at York College. Whatever your starting point, we have a course for you.

Step 1: If you are interested in studying English, maths or ESOL at York College, contact us:

  • Phone us on 01904 770 400
  • Call in to York College and talk to someone on the InfoZone

Once we have your details, you will be contacted to come in for a chat with a tutor and to do some initial assessment activities to find out which class is best for you.

Step 2: Attend an induction session before your course starts. This will be a mix of getting to know the college, getting access to our network and starting to plan your learning.
At this point you may be asked to do another assessment, which will help us identify what you need to work on and that the course you are on is the right one for you.

Step 3: Start your course during the week commencing 18th September 2017. We also have fast-track courses starting in January.

All courses are during the day. They are split into three parts:

  • Speaking and Listening (September)
  • Reading (January)
  • Writing (April)

You can do all three, or just the ones you need, at the level you need.
