T Level in Engineering & Manufacturing: Design & Development

As part of his two year course, George combined his passion for engineering and working in the railway sector with his work placement on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. On why he chose the T Level he said: “I liked the opportunity of being able to do a work placement and having real-world experience, learning what life is like in the workplace.”

Having implemented the theory learnt in the classroom into assignments and projects at College he developed his skills further learning from experienced engineers on his work placement. Asked if he would recommend the course to others he said: “It’s probably the best course if you want to go on to an apprenticeship and it’s probably the best course for employers to look at you, because you’re getting theory and learning practical skills that I know will stay with me throughout my working life.”
