Following the outstanding A Level results achieved this summer at York College, it is exciting to see that students have progressed to study diverse and interesting degrees at universities up and down the country.
Even though many students chose to study traditional degrees at top universities, including subjects such as medicine, law and politics, others chose to study more unusual subjects, providing exciting career opportunities in the future. Challenging degrees ranging from Mechanical and Low Carbon Transport Engineering at Newcastle University, Artificial Intelligence at the University of Leeds, Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Lancaster University, Japanese Studies at the University of Manchester and International Equine and Agricultural Management at the Royal Agricultural College are just some of the degree courses former York College students are now studying.
Andy D'Agorne, Careers Co-ordinator at York College, comments: “We take a keen interest in what happens to students when they leave. In spite of the unprecedented demand for university places this year, York College successfully placed 788 students, which is an increase on last year. In 2011 our students opted to study a wide variety of degree subjects which will ultimately result in exciting career choices. The advice and guidance offered to students includes reference to previous destinations and choices made by ex-students, this information often broadens students' outlook.”Back to News Stories listing
