‘The Land’ exhibition brings together a collection of artists who consider contemporary attitudes to the notion of the land, the terrain and the space we inhabit as human beings. Each of the artists’ work offer interpretations of our relationship with the landscape considering the spiritual, social, environmental, philosophical, historical and aesthetic aspects.

Madeline Yates
Wayne Robinson
One of the featured artists, Madeline Yates is a landscape photographer interested in the human relationship with the natural world, presently and historically. She says: 'My work is a search for the spiritual side of nature. I have created calming meditative spaces of aesthetic and often ethereal beauty wherein the viewer can contemplate their feelings towards the natural world.’
The Land exhibition opens in the Gallery at York College on Monday 16th April until Wednesday 10th May. The Gallery is open Monday to Friday (9am - 5pm) and Saturday (9am - 12noon). Entry is free.Back to News Stories listing
