Andrew Malcher, Executive Chairman of national TV shopping channel High Street TV, visited York College to meet with Extended Diploma Creative Media Production (Television and Film) students and tour the College's impressive media department. He gave a presentation and spoke to the students about the exciting new developments and expansion of High Street TV, now based in Harrogate.
Media tutor Jane Cullen said: “Andrew's visit was very useful. He was given a tour of the College's media department and was impressed by the course and the students. He said that there are strong links to be made with High Street TV and the College. It is hoped there will be opportunities in the future for students to carry out individual work experience and for the course as a whole, especially as advertising features in student assessments. High Street TV is currently building a production studio in Harrogate which means that products will be filmed locally rather than in its studios in LA.”
