Level 2 Plumbing students took part in a technical exercise when the Army Recruitment Team visited the College. They were given a brief to design and build a racing buggy. Once made, the group enjoyed racing the buggies against eachother.
Sgt Andy Butts commented: “It is our role to brief students about technical jobs that exist in the army and we know that plumbers have excellent engineering and logistical skills. It could be that our visit sparks an interest and that students may then want to find out more about possible careers with the army.“
Alan Bates, Plumbing tutor said: “The students enjoyed building the buggies and were able to use their imagination when designing them. They came up with some good ideas and great designs. They certainly had lots of fun racing them! It was a valuable team building exercise and an opportunity for students to consider how their skills and can be used in the world of employment.“
