“This is the first time
York College has had
a winner in the Ladies
High Fashion category
at the national final
and we are delighted
for Rachel, who works
at Blue Hairdressing
in Little Stonegate in
York. Rachel managed
to show off her skills
under enormous pressure.
The atmosphere was absolutely
great and the experience
will be of great value
to her in the future.”
Rachel’s employer, Stephen
Kriehn from Blue Hairdressing,

success. He says: “Having
an apprentice winning
a national hairdressing
competition is a real
bonus for the salon.
Well done Rachel!”
Said Rachel: “I couldn’t
believe it when I was
awarded first place.
I was up against competitors
from around 30 different
colleges, so it was tough.
I would like to thank
my employer, Blue Hairdressing
and my tutors at York
College for their support
and encouragement.”
