last year. Triple distinctions
have been achieved
in the following areas;
Art & Design, Media & Performing
Arts, Business Management,
Child Studies, Hospitality,

and Science.
Clare Wareing, Assistant
Principal (14 - 19 Vocational)
at York College comments: "We
are absolutely delighted
with this years National
Diploma results, they
are the best in the college's
history. To have so many
students achieving the
very highest grades possible
in their vocational courses
is just wonderful. These
fantastic results will
see our students progressing
to higher education courses
or employment with real
confidence."
Triple
Distinction Success for
Sport & Exercise
Science Students
The entire class of
seventeen York College
students who studied
for a National Diploma
in Sport and Exercise
Science have excelled
themselves and achieved
triple distinction grades
(equivalent to 3 As at
A Level). They can now
realise their personal
dreams of qualifying
for university places
in subjects ranging from
Sport to Business.

Said student Kerry Walker:
“The lessons were interesting
and the teaching was
brilliant. We knew we
were on track to achieve
distinctions and this
spurred everyone on to
do their best. We had
a lot of support and
felt totally motivated
throughout the course.
I am really looking forward
to studying a Foundation
Degree in Sports Therapy
at York College in September.”
Said student Craig Allen,
who is progressing to
study Business Enterprise
at Manchester Metropolitan
University: “I enjoy
the theory side of sport
as much as the practical.
I hope to set up my own
sport related business
one day.”
Says course tutor, Adam
Gledhill: “I am delighted
for the students. They
have all worked very
hard to achieve their
triple distinction goals
and deserve the highest
praise. Last year we
had seventeen out of
eighteen students achieving
triple distinctions at
this level but this year
we have actually hit
the jackpot, with every
single student attaining
the highest grades. I
could not have asked
for a more dedicated
and enthusiastic group
of students, their efforts
have really paid off.
I wish them all the very
best for the future.”
