Three
Sets of Sporty Twins
Three sets of twins
have completed sports
courses at York College
this year and they are
all progressing to different
universities to study
a variety of degree courses.
They are Catherine and
Sophie Hunter, Hayley
and Sophie Milner and
Amy and Kirsty Smith.
Says Denise Morrison,
Head of Division for
Sport at York College: "To
have three sets of twins
with a common interest
in sport at the college
is really exciting. They
have all taken an active
role in sporting activities,
as well as studying sport
as an academic subject.
The great thing is that
they are all progressing
to study different courses
at university too. We
wish them all the very
best in the future."
Says A Level sport student,
Sophie Hunter: "We
have enjoyed studying
sport at York College
and have found the teaching
to be especially good.
My sister and I are going
on to study other subjects
at university and have
found Sport & PE
to be a complimentary
mix with other subjects."
Sophie Milner has achieved
a perfect points score
(maximum 324 points)
on the National Diploma
in Sport & Sport
Exercise Science course,
achieving a triple distinction
(equivalent to three
As at A Level). Alongside
the National Diploma,
Sophie is completing
her Level 2 Gym Instructor
qualification and outside
of college she is completing
her Duke of Edinburgh
qualification.
