Testing the city during Adult Learners Week
York College students have been out in force testing the city during Adults Learners Week. Students studying a range of courses including art & design, information technology, skills 4 life and business took to the streets of York to promote the benefit of all kinds of adult learning, albeit for fun or studying for a career-enhancing qualification.
This year marks the 20th National Adult Learners’ Week. Each year York College plays an integral role in engaging the city in learning activities as well as teaming up with City of York Council to host several events around the city, including free workshops and taster sessions.
Mike Saunders, Head of Studies for Lifelong Learning and Higher Education at York College comments: “ Adult Learning is a vital part of the College’s portfolio, aiming to work with adults of all ages to help them to achieve their goals. The College is the largest provider of the Access to HE Diploma in the city and will be launching its new Adult Learning brochure in early July. There is a variety of learning opportunities suitable for all, ranging from literacy, numeracy and ESOL courses to professional courses such as the Association of Accountancy Technicians qualifications.“
