Stonemasonry
student at York College
is recognised for his
achievement
On behalf of the Worshipful
Company of Masons and
Harbro Tools Supplies,
Dick Reid presented Kris
Tebble, a stonemasonry
student at York College
with a cheque for £250.
The prize, to be spent
on stonemasonry tools,
was awarded to Kris in
recognition of his achievement
on the Level 3 Stonemasonry
course at York College.
Kris, aged 27, works
for Historic Property
Restoration, based in
the North East where
the restoration of castles,
churches, and stately
homes is the main area
of work. He is a mature
learner with Construction
Skills at the college
and has proved to be
worthy of this award
through to his hard work & determination
to complete the entire
framework.
Said Kris: “I am both
honoured and shocked
to receive this award.
Having a background in
art & design means
that I can appreciate
the design elements in
buildings and I find
stonemasonry to be very
creative. I am pleased
that I decided to take
up the craft and I have
been fortunate in securing
an apprenticeship.”
Says Paul Hill, Stonemasonry
tutor at York College:
“Kris has the most comprehensive
set of colourful notes
ever seen to aid his
revision. The quality
of his stone work is
excellent and his enthusiasm
has been consistant throughout.
He has never stopped
learning new things about
the craft.”
Dick Reid, on behalf
of the Worshipful Company
of Masons said: “I am
very glad that excellence
is being rewarded. Kris
is a worthy winner of
this prize.”
