Unveiling of the Guild of Building honours board at
York College
At a special ceremony at York College, the Master of the York Guild of Building,
Steve Owen, unveiled a brand new Guild of Building Honours board. The new board is located at the rear of the college atrium and lists the York College construction students who have been awarded Guild of Building medals over the past fifty years.
Steve Owen, Master of the York Guild of Building said: “I am delighted to unveil the York Guild of Building honours board at the college. We are glad that the Guild has a strong link with the college and can continue to reward students as we have done for the past 50 years. We are always very pleased to recognise outstanding work by construction craft students.”
Kevin Clancy, Head of Division for Construction at York College said: “The new honours board has real significance for our construction students. It takes pride of place in the college atrium, commemorating the long standing association the college has with the York Guild of Building. It serves as a daily reminder to us all of the importance of keeping the traditional construction crafts alive.”
