Fashion students style M&S customers
York shoppers were given the chance to overhaul their image in time for the festive season when York College fashion students took to the shop floor to offer style tips to Marks & Spencer customers. National Diploma in Fashion and Foundation Degree in Fashion Design students spent the weekend flexing their creative muscles in the M&S Monks Cross store, advising customers on the latest fashion trends and offering guidance on how to wear them.
The students worked with M&S’s complete range of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, accessories and footwear including brand new items from the popular Per Una range.
M&S Monks Cross Store Manager, Kirstie Walsh commented: “The weekend provided an enhanced shopping experience for our customers, enabling them to update their wardrobes and seek advice on this season’s fashions. It was also a great opportunity for M&S to further support York College students by providing them with experience of fashion retailing and customer interaction.”
Fashion Tutor, Tara Berridge said: “Over the last six years York College fashion students have benefited greatly from various live projects with Marks & Spencer. This particular project allowed students to access an entirely new area of fashion; visual merchandising and styling, which is not necessarily covered on their course and is linked directly with industry." |
