Ever A Level Results
at York College
York College is proud
to announce its best
ever A Level results.
There were over 1300
A Level exam entries
this summer at York College.
The overall pass rate
was 98.5%, a notable
improvement on last year’s
results. This means that
York College’s A Level
results are above the
national average for
an impressive fifteenth
consecutive year. Nearly
half of the grades awarded
were at A or B and the
college is delighted
to report that 34 subjects
had a 100% pass rate.
A record 40 students
achieved straight A grades
in all of their A Level
subjects. Two students,
Robert Hughes and Kit
Hildyard, gained a remarkable
five A grade passes,
fourteen students gained
an outstanding four A
grade passes and a further
24 students gained three
A grade passes.
The college is very
proud to announce that
at least seven students
received the necessary
grades to be accepted
into Cambridge University;
Kit Hildyard will study
History at Trinity College,
Robert Hughes will study
Engineering at Emmanuel
College, Megan Bradley
will study Social & Political
Science at Murray Edwards
College, David Finch
will study Geography
at Churchill College,
James Swanton will study
English at Selwyn College,
Oliver Stannard will
study Computer Science
at Churchill College
and Vicky Atkins will
study Law at Newnham
College.
Dr Alison Birkinshaw,
Principal of York College,
said “York College’s
best ever A Level results
are a testament to the
hard work and dedication
of our wonderful students
and staff. I am delighted
that the vast majority
of students will now
be able to pursue their
ambitions, whether this
is to progress onto higher
education or to employment.
So far the college has
received excellent vocational
results too, our learners
have achieved 128 triple
distinctions out of a
total of 458 National
Diploma achievements.
These results are equivalent
to three As at A Level.”

a Higher Education qualification,
York College offers a
range of degrees at a
fraction of the cost
of going to other higher
education establishments.
