Beauty students provide fireman's charity body wax
York College beauty therapy students used an abundance of wax and muscle power to rid Stuart Hopkin (Blue Watch manager at Malton fire station) of his entire body hair, all in aid charity.
Stuart braved everything to fundraise for Cancer Research and the Fire-fighters charity. However, his main aim was to fundraise to help his friend and fellow firefighter, Russ Carr, who has been diagnosed with cancer. Stuart hopes his waxing stunt will raise enough money to send Russ away on a family holiday with his wife and three young children.
Denise Morrison, Head of Division for Hairdressing and Beauty at York College said: "Stuart's body wax provided a great learning experience for our students and the whole exercise was in aid of a very worthy cause."
Stuart said: "I would like to thank the
York College beauty therapy students for carrying out the waxing. I feel a little colder now that my body hair has gone but it's a small price to pay if I can raise enough money to give my friend and colleague some quality time with his family."
Any donations are more than welcome and should be sent to Stuart at Malton Fire Station, Sheepfoot Hill, Malton, YO177DX
