A Level Awards Evening
York College hosted a special A Level Awards evening for students who excelled in their AS and A2 studies this year.
Held in the College's atrium, the event began with an introductory speech by Dr Alison Birkinshaw, Principal of York College.
The awards were presented by Glyn Jones, Assistant Principal for A Levels, Hayley Anderson, Head of Studies for A Levels, and Yannick Berland, Assistant Head of Studies for A Levels. There was an address by guest speaker Iain Wright, Shadow Education Minister and MP for Hartlepool, the College's Student of the Year, Alex Stevenson, also gave a speech and there was a vote of thanks by David Johnson, representing the Board of Governors.
Glyn Jones, Assistant Principal for A Levels at York College, said: “I’m delighted to be able to honour such an excellent group of students who have all inspired and impressed in their different ways. They’re wonderful ambassadors for the College and it is a great pleasure seeing them progress into the next exciting steps in their lives.”
