Clusterbomb
Retrospectastic
5th November – 1st December 2011
Clusterbomb showcases the new work of five figurative artists; Alex Gibbs, Jamie Kinroy, John Brown, Bobby Nixon and Matt Swan who share a similar concern for the excessive clustering of imagery, a predilection for information overload and a penchant for extreme cut n’ paste.
Clusterbomb explodes conservative image making in favour of the aesthetics of Maximalism.
Clusterbomb will cluster the everyday into new shapes, forms, meanings and landscapes.
Clusterbomb is based in Edinburgh and is a collective made up of tutors and former students from Edinburgh College of Art.

Alison Jones and
Annie Whiles
7th January – 9th February 2012
This exhibition brings together the drawings of Alison Jones and Annie Whiles.
Annie Whiles is exhibiting drawings of objects and found images of objects. “Often the subjects chosen have an amazing starting point. Not because they are anything extraordinary or unique in terms of proposition or perspective within themselves, but because they are very ordinary. She wants them to represent something other than their external manner. The lines describe what is not there. The drawings represent nothing and plenty more besides. To make that quality apparent her gesture must seem to disappear.” (Bernard Walsh 2007)
Alison Jones’ Art House works are drawn from the society pages of luxury magazines such as 'W'. The drawings take pleasure in public parades of private glamour, plush interiors, exquisite objet d’art and private collections.
Alison Jones and Annie Whiles are both tutors on the Fine Art programme at Goldsmiths, University of London.
