Each
month the college
recognises a student
who has done something
exceptional; Alana
Miles has been chosen
as Student of the
Month for November.
Alana was nominated
by her tutor Neil
Smith for being an
exceptionally gifted
student who works
very hard and also
gives so much back
to the community,
working for various
charities outside
of college. Neil
said: “Alana volunteers
for the York College
Leos Club and the
WRVS at York Hospital,
all on a weekly basis,
and freely gives
support and kindness
to others. In July
Alana went to the
House of Commons
to represent the
young volunteers
and met with MP's
to discuss the needs
of young people in
our area. In college
Alana supports other
students both within
Film Studies and
as part of our tutor
group. Alana deserves
this accolade from
the college.”
Principal,
Alison Birkinshaw
presented Catherine
with a £25.00 Waterstones
voucher.
