Each
month the college
recognises a student
who has done something
exceptional; Livia
Tverdun has been
chosen as Student
of the Month for
December.
Livia was nominated
for this award by
Sandra Rowley, Head
of Division for Languages.
Livia, from Moldova,
joined the International
Foundation programme
in September, following
the Business, Management
and Economics pathway,
intending to go to
university in 2010.
Since her arrival
she has played a
full part in college
life. Not only is
she an excellent
student, but she
is making the most
of the opportunities
to join extra curricular
activities. In particular
she has become a
volunteer and helped
out at the recent
college Open Evening,
despite English being
her second language.
She is a competent
student representative
of her tutor group,
aware of the responsibility
of her role, and
has been suggested
as a member of the
new Learning Centre
user group. She quietly
helps her peers when
help is needed. Livia
has achieved such
a lot in a short
space of time and
has been so willing
and prepared to give
to the college community.
