Each
month the college
recognises a student
who has done something
exceptional; Darrell
Hill has been chosen
as Student of the Month
for April.
Darrell is
on an Entry Level
Programme - Skills
for Working Life.
He has been nominated
by his course leader
Sheila Armstrong.
Darrell was home
educated in his latter
secondary school
years due to health
issues. He firstly
studied on the Entry
2 Skills for Working
Life programme and
also the Certificate
in Life Skills Entry
2. He has since progressed
onto Entry 3 Skills
for Working Life
and is on target
to achieve this year.
He has also been
successful in obtaining
a Level 1 & 2
qualification in Literacy
and is due to move
onto an IT level 1
programme next year.
Sheila Armstong
says: “I feel Darrell’s
success is due to
his personal commitment
to achieve. His attendance
is excellent, his
punctuality is second
to none, he always
hands his work in
on time and takes
an active part in
all group work. Also
he has been a good
ambassador for the
college whilst on
his work experience
placement at GAME.
Most of all, he works
relentlessly to achieve
his SMART termly
targets.”
