What
is counselling?
- Counselling offers
an opportunity
for you to talk
and try and understand
your difficulties.
- Counselling is
about finding ways
to help you to
help yourself.
- Counselling can
help you to manage
and cope with the
problem better,
and work towards
possible solutions.
Why
would I want to see
a counsellor?
There may be occasions
during your time
at college when you
experience problems,
feel under pressure
and find it hard
to cope.
It may be something
to do with:
- Getting behind
with your work
- Stress
- Relationship
difficulties
- Bullying
- Not making friends
- Problems at home
- Eating problems
- Self harm
- Lacking confidence/low
self-esteem
- Alcohol/drug
problems
- Facing a decision
- Anxiety, panic,
phobias
- Loss and bereavement
- Abusive experiences
- Any other issues,
big or small.
