How
will Connexions
be able to help?
Connexions
at York College offer
a complete range
of services to help
learners obtain the
help, advice and
support they need
to make decisions
about their life,
including Personal
Support and careers
advice.
Personal Advice
Connexions
Intensive Personal
Advisers work with
learners under 20
years old who have
personal needs or
are in vulnerable
categories which
put them at risk
of leaving college.
These include learners
who are sofa-surfing,
potentially homeless,
living independently,
pregnant, young parents,
young carers, careleavers,
or those with learning
difficulties, substance
misuse issues, debt
etc - or a mixture
of the above! 1:1
support enables students
to address issues
and access internal
or external specialist
support.
If
you are in distress
and there is no one
in the college you
can speak to, call
The Samaritans on
0345 909090.
