It
is important
to remember that
your son or daughter
is never on their
own. Wherever
they are in their
studies or in
their life, there
is someone to
help them.
Our dedicated
staff are here
to help them
to:
- motivate
themselves
- manage
their workload
- get
support for
a learning
difficulty
and/or disability
- deal
with any
personal
difficulties
that may
arise during
their time
with us
- help
plan their
future.
Pastoral
Support
All
students are
assigned to
a Progress
Tutor when
they start
college. They
will have regular
timetabled
sessions with
their tutor
to help them
to review their
progress and
to study the
tutorial curriculum.
Their Progress
Tutor will
help them work
through any
personal concerns
or those related
to their course
and they will
write references
for job and
university
applications.
Progress Tutors
are the first
point of contact
for help or
advice.
Contact
with Parents/Carers
The
college highly
values the
contact we
have with parents/carers.
Your first
point of contact
will usually
be with your
son or daughter’s
Progress Tutor
who will have
an overview
of their programme
of study. He
or she will
contact you
if there are
any concerns,
however, you
are welcome
to make direct
contact with
the Progress
Tutor to discuss
any issues
of importance.
During the
year there
are other formal
opportunities
for you to
meet staff:
- Welcome
evenings,
information
for parents
about their
son or daughter’s
courses and
the college
- Progress
evenings,
to discuss
your son
or daughter’s
progress
with their
subject tutors.
