It
is important
to remember
that your son
or daughter
is never on
their own.
Wherever they
are in their
studies, in
their life,
there is someone
to help them.
Our dedicated
staff are here
to help them
to:
- Motivate
themselves
- Manage
their workload
- Provide
support for
a learning
difficulty
and/or disability
- Deal
with any
personal
difficulties
that may
arise during
their time
with us
- Help
plan their
future.
Pastoral Support
All students
are assigned
to a Progress
Tutor when
they start
college. They
will have regular
timetabled
sessions with
their Progress
Tutor to help
them to review
their progress
and to study
the tutorial
curriculum.
Their Progress
Tutor will
help them work
through any
personal concerns
or those related
to their course(s)
and they will
write references
for job and
university
applications.
Progress Tutors
are the first
point of contact
for help or
advice.
Contact
with Parents/Carers
The
college highly
values the
contact we
have with parents/carers.
Your first
point of contact
will usually
be with your
son’s/daughter’s
Progress Tutor
who will have
an overview
of his/her
programme of
study. He/she
will contact
you if there
are any concerns
to raise with
you, however,
you are most
welcome to
make direct
contact with
the Progress
Tutor to discuss
any issues
of importance
to you.
During
the year there
are other formal
opportunities
for you to
meet staff:
- Welcome Evenings
Information
for parents
about their
son’s/daughter’s
courses and
the college.
- Progress
Evenings
To discuss
your son’s/daughter’s
progress
with his/her
subject tutors.
