Another record year for A Levels at York College: 99.3% pass rate
York College’s A Level Faculty announced its best ever A Level results this year. There were 1,325 A2 Level exam entries, with an overall pass rate of 99.3%. York College’s A Level results were therefore well above the national average for the seventeenth consecutive year.
An outstanding 73 A* grades were achieved by
York College students, with 249 A or A* grades and nearly half of the total A Level entries achieved the very top grades (A*, A or B). The College was also delighted to have 34 A Level subjects with a 100% pass rate.
Sam Poulten was the College’s top student this year. He achieved an amazing 4 A* grades in Physics, Maths, Further Maths and Additional Further Maths, plus an A grade in Spanish.

Emily Atkinson - (destination Nottingham University to study Law)
Alexandra Garthwaite - (destination undecided)

Jack Taylor – (AAAB - destination Bristol University to study Accountancy and Finance)
Victoria Wright – (A*A*AA - destination University of York to study Maths)
Meriel O’Conor – (A*A*AA - destination Edinburgh University to study Biology)
Simon Thunder – (A*A*AB - destination Nottingham University to study German & Philosophy)
