Xtra Curricular

We value the importance of extra curricular activities, offering over 80 different experiences. All our students are given the opportunity to participate. They are a great chance to develop interests outside the classroom, as well as make new friends.

Activities include:

• Community Sports Leadership Award
• Duke of Edinburgh Award
• Debating Society
• Latin GCSE
• Sports including Basketball, Netball, Football, Rugby Union, Badminton, Running club
• York College Volunteers / Ambassadors
• Digital Photography
• Choir and a range of music groups and bands
• Leos (a youth group of the Minster Lions where students organise and run fundraising events).

We also have a dedicated team who can arrange a work placement for your son/daughter as part of their enrichment.

Expeditions, Study Visits and Competitions

Here are some examples of the amazing, educational and informative visits, exchanges and competitions related to different courses:

• Art & Design students to Paris & Barcelona
• Law students to Brussels
• A Level Film Studies students to Los Angeles
• History students to Rome and Sorrento
• Geographers and Biologists to Morocco
• French A Level students to Paris
• Public Services students have taken part in expeditions to Morocco, Snowdonia and the Lake District.
  

In addition, some trips have been offered to students across the college as part of enrichment:

• A snow sports trip to Courmayeur in Italy
• A three-week trip to either Nepal or Northern India.
