As the 2017 academic year gets underway, York College is looking ahead launching its 2018/19 Further Education prospectus to help current year 11 students and their parents/carers make the right choices about education and training options.
With the widest choice of A Levels and Vocational courses in the region, as well as an impressive range of apprenticeship programmes covering all kinds of occupational areas, the new prospectus gives course information and guidance about all the fantastic opportunities York College offers school leavers.
Lucy Walker, Senior Schools Liaison Officer, comments: “Choosing the right course or courses to study can seem quite daunting, and we would advise attending our Open Events and Taster Days to help students to decide which is the best programme of study for them. This prospectus is a comprehensive guide to all the courses available, as well as the high level of support and extra-curricular opportunities on offer. An important factor should be the range of professions or careers the courses can lead to, particularly for technical or vocational subjects. To help with this we have included a new section on career mapping, giving prospective students ideas on the kind of careers available to them after studying specific courses.”
York College Principal, Dr Alison Birkinshaw says: “We want York College students to achieve great things, realise their ambitions and lead exciting and fulfilling lives. We are here to make sure students make the right decisions in the transition from school to College and to support them in their next steps, ensuring they leave us as successful adults able to meet future challenges with confidence.”
