Applications and Funding

Full-time courses

Full-time extended degree, HND, foundation degree and degree course applicants should apply on-line through www.ucas.com/apply. If you do not have internet access contact UCAS on 0871 468 0 468 for details of regional centres.

If you are applying for an Art & Design course your application does not have to be submitted until March. Late applications may be possible after this date.

Students wanting to study on the Diploma in Foundation Studies Art and Design should apply direct to York College, using a full-time application form. Please note application is not through UCAS.

Part-time courses

If you wish to study a part-time course you should use a York College application form and apply direct to college; the form can be downloaded by following this link.

Interviews

On receipt of your application you will normally be invited for an interview. This is your opportunity to ask about costs, materials, discounts, etc. and to decide whether this is the right course for you. Places will only be offered subject to a successful interview and, in the case of Art & Design courses, a satisfactory portfolio.

Fees, Loans and Grants

'All students applying to a York College Higher Education course with an existing higher education qualification are alerted to provisional funding changes that have been introduced by the Government for 2008/09 entry. These changes may impact on their eligibility to be charged the normal fee level to study at York College. It must be noted these proposed changes do not apply to all qualifications, or subjects. For example there are some proposed exemptions such as Foundation degrees, healthcare professions, engineering, etc. Therefore, for further details please contact our Student Services on 01904 770397, or email: studentservices@yorkcollege.ac.uk.

Overseas Residents

There are seperate rules on fees for overseas learners or those who have lived abroad for a signifcant length of time. Contact us for advice on +44 1904 770400. An international application system is available for HE study. Visit www.ucas.com/intapply.

For some programmes of study offered by York College it will be necessary for applicants to demonstrate fluency in both written and spoken English in order to meet the academic requirements of their chosen course of study. Please ask at interview or at the point of enrolment.
