Alan Ayckbourn Theatre

The College's Alan Ayckbourn Theatre is named after internationally renowned playwright Sir Alan Ayckbourn, Yorkshire 's and the UK 's greatest living playwright.

Designed to be a flexible auditorium, the Alan Ayckbourn Theatre can be adapted for a wide variety of performance styles for theatre, dance and music events. The space has seating for up to 200 people (dependent on performance lay out), in addition to state-of-the-art lighting and sound equipment.

The theatre is used primarily for workshops, rehearsals and regular productions by York College Acting, Dance and Musical Theatre students. The space is also a first-class training venue for students studying Technical Theatre and Production. Music and Music Technology students also use the theatre for musical concerts and performances.

College productions take place throughout the year in the Alan Ayckbourn Theatre, to find out about forthcoming productions contact Anthony Ravenhall (Performing Arts tutor) on tel: 01904 770296.
