Alan Ayckbourn Theatre
The College's Alan Ayckbourn Theatre is named after internationally renowned playwright Sir Alan Ayckbourn, Yorkshire 's and the UK 's greatest living playwright.
Designed to be a flexible auditorium, the Alan Ayckbourn Theatre can be adapted for a wide variety of performance styles for theatre, dance and music events. The space has seating for up to 200 people (dependent on performance lay out), in addition to state-of-the-art lighting and sound equipment.
The theatre is used primarily for workshops, rehearsals and regular productions by York College Acting, Dance and Musical Theatre students. The space is also a first-class training venue for students studying Technical Theatre and Production. Music and Music Technology students also use the theatre for musical concerts and performances.
