Re-making Leeds

The Re-making Leeds project is funded through the Heritage Lottery and aims to address several heritage construction skills shortages. As part of this project partners aim to deliver a range of short courses.

Wood Carving

This programme aims to show basic principles and techniques to those who would like to reproduce carved ornament for restoration on historic buildings or furniture.

  • Introduction to tools
  • Wood preparation
  • Basic carving technique
  • Produce a carved moulding

You may also be interested in attending the Carving our Heritage short course which is one evening preceding this programmes (16th March 2017) which will show you have to produce accurate information to enable the reproduction of historic carving and ornaments including reproduction and plaster cast modelling techniques.

Time: 6.00 pm – 9.00 pm each session
