How To Apply.
Please read the information below carefully.
When can I apply?
You can apply after the October half-term and we would advise that you send in your application as soon as you can and no later than the Easter holidays to have the best chance of securing a place on the courses you have chosen. Please note that we will still accept applications that we receive after the Easter holidays.
If you are undecided about which courses to apply for, come along to our Open Events and Taster Days to speak to tutors and try out courses for yourself. For any further information please call the Schools Liaison Team on 01904 770239.
Step 1 - Complete an application form
As soon as you have decided on your choice of course/s you can fill in an application form (your Head of Careers will tell you whether you need a paper application form or if you are able to apply online). Application forms are available in school (ask your Head of Careers), from Careers Advisers or from York College and you can also download a form below.
For full-time courses you will need to complete a Full-time application form. It is important that you use the guidance notes attached to the application form. Please don't worry if you are still a little unsure about your course choice. The courses you put on your application are just a starting point and we are aware you may want to make some changes over the coming months. Please complete the form as carefully as you can.
Step 2 - Acknowledgement of application
When we receive your application, we will acknowledge it promptly. If you have not heard from us within 14 working days of sending your form, please contact the Admissions Team on 01904 770397 to check that we have received it.
Step 3 - Guidance interview
You will then be invited to a personal guidance interview. This is essential in order to establish the best learning programme for you, and in some cases may include some diagnostic testing. Following your guidance interview you will receive a conditional offer letter within 10 working days, your letter will detail the course/subjects agreed at your interview. |
